We are here to make heard the voices of hundreds of small business owners and artisans across the state of Iowa who are impacted due to unfair taxation and misrepresentation due to misinformation.
About Our Coalition
The Glass Industry Coalition Of Iowa was first established in 2024 to fight Senate Bill 345 helping to levy the voices of tradesmen and businesses across the state of Iowa misrepresented through legislation. We are here to form a standing front for glass artists, gallery owners and like-minded citizens looking to change the status quo of the glass and smoking industries long standing relationship and bring broader access to information and education on functional glass art and the community that drives it!
In Iowa there has traditionally been a misunderstanding of our business sect and the art behind it and are often times slandered or made out to be the "demise" of our communities due to our legislators depictions that we are promoting "illicit drug use" due to the nature by which our art is created and used. Our job is to bring a more thorough understanding of the dynamic of our craft and the society we operate in and bring a broader respect to the tradesmen who have dedicated their lives to it as well as the business owners who operate in the public face by giving them a voice and foundation to stand on against cruel and unfair legislative impacts here in Iowa.

Give A Voice To Misrepresented Glass Artist's And Tradesmen In Iowa.
Functional glass art and the artisans driving it are commonly scrutinized without representation and made the scapegoat of major socioeconomic issues in Iowa. We are here to give them a fighting chance against unjust misrepresentation and stand up for their rights to operate comfortably in the state of Iowa without unfair taxation and legislative policy.
Fight For The Rights Of Businesses Impacted Through Unfair Legislation.
In Iowa our industry is generally under strict watchful eye by our legislators and often times are the brunt of harsh legislative changes impacting the livelihoods of families and the operations of businesses all over our state often with little notice for response from the people the legislations will impact directly. We are here to fight for fair and just regulations impacting businesses and allowing them to prosper within the state of Iowa.
Coordinate Legislative Action Impacting Our Industry.
We are here to work hand in hand with legislators to help bring active change and create a bountiful industry for years to come by establishing realistic tax rates, operations restrictions, licensing requirements and other policies essential to the fluid and continued operation of our industry here in Iowa.
