Please spread the word of the injustices and misrepresentation of Iowa's glass artists and the industry that supports them through the functional glass art movement by emailing your state legislators of your respective districts about your concerns with Senate File 345 and the impacts taking place in our industry and the implications they will most certainly have all over the state of Iowa! Please follow the quick instructions below to help voice your concern and help our fight for a better industry and future!

 

​Be polite and straight forward with why you don’t like the bill and find three talking points such as:
- Tax will/could put us or a loved one or friend you know out of business. 
- This is over regulation and taxation without representation.
- Talk about how this was presented as a drug apparatus bill and a tobacco bill and that’s completely false and contradictory.

- Unclear definition of apparatus description leaves too much room for discrepancies in how legislation can be applied.

- Unfair penalties to small business owners and artisans operating in Iowa.

- Unfair allocation of tax funds due to legislative misrepresentation of our craft and industry.

- How this legislation impedes on the 5th amendment right to not self incriminate by forcing businesses to provide information that could potentially be used to take legal action against them.
